Megan & Harrison [Wente Vineyards, Livermore CA]

Happy almost 1 year anniversary to Megan & Harrison! Even though this wedding was a year ago, I can still hear Megan’s laugh and feel the warm welcome from both Megan and Harrison’s wonderful families. Often weddings are more than just the marriage of two people, but really the union of two families and that is what I remember most about this day. That and the blue velvet cake… because really, what self respecting Cal fan would serve red velvet at his wedding? I’m sure it was an easy decision to make for both bride and groom since Gauchos are also partial to blue and gold  :)

Megan & Harrison,

Thank you for having me be a part of such a special day. I hope this past year has been nothing but a honeymoon!

Candace & Daniel: [Beautiful Backyard Wedding]

Tuesday, September 28th, 2010

Candace & Daniel,

Your wedding moved me to tears. I suppose that’s the risk you run when photographing someone’s wedding who you’ve grown up with. I cannot fully express how much joy it brought me to be a part of your day. It was such an intimate and beautiful wedding, it makes me feel special that I was asked to be a part of it. I’ve never seen so much laughter and loving tears in a ceremony and it just goes to show how much fun you have together and the love that you have for each other and your family and friends have for you.

I’ve been meaning to write this post for some time now but it took me so long to find the right words and pick the right photos that would allow me to illustrate the fraction of the emotion that your wedding created. Even though the sky was overcast and it even rained a little, the love and joy was palpable and made the rain seem like just tears of happiness. I love that you did so much of this wedding yourselves, that you had pie instead of cake, that you two found each other. What a beautiful day.

Thank you.
