Los Angeles [Family Session]

Friday, June 3rd, 2011

I have so many things to share I don’t even know where to begin. I’ve been wanting to post this forever and am now finding some time! I love this family. Not only because Peter use to live with Brent and is his good friend, or because Jee is one of the nicest people I know, or because Isaiah was born a day after Amara… but because they asked me to a be a part of capturing a moment in their family history. It really is important to take the time to get family photos done. I don’t just say this as a photographer, but as a mom too. Kids grow up so fast and life is so busy. It’s nice to have someone else take the responsibility of taking the photos so you can just relax and have some fun with your family.

They are also awesome for letting me experiment and take pictures like this and not thinking I was too weird (it’s through a kaleidoscope thingy at the park. I should have had them at the top of the slide but couldn’t quite tell where the clear part of the thing would be…next time!):

Actually you can see the kaleidoscope thingy in this photo (under the orange fish on the left side).

Daddy & Me[s]

Tuesday, May 17th, 2011

I thought when I left my 9-5 (or really 8-4:30) gig at the library I would have an immense amount of time to do photography, blog, etc. But alas, here I am into my 2nd month of this new schedule and I’m finally doing this post!  Brent and I are working on a huge project that I will share more about later! I’m really excited for this next couple years as it is ‘go time’ for us…

I talked Brent and Aya and Amara into doing a little Daddy & Me session… which meant asking Brent nicely and buying some gummy snacks for Amara and Tic Tacs for Aya.

Apparently Brent is the funniest dad ever.

Cakes & Photos!

Wednesday, February 9th, 2011

Jessica was the first person I traded services with last year for Brent’s birthday. She was kind enough to take my off the wall ideas and put them into a cake. I wanted something unique to Brent. I had it in my head that it should have to do with CS5 and it would be clever to spell his name out so they looked like the icons from CS5. etc. etc. and it had to be lime cake, cause when I asked him what his favorite cake was he said “key lime pie.”  Right. Key lime PIE! Don’t even get me started. I also wanted it to incorporate berries or fruit because Brent loves fruit. Somehow Jessica took all this and actually morphed it into the best cake ever. Lime green cake with blueberry cream filling. It was sooooooo delicious!

Before the holidays, we finally coordinated our schedules and I got to meet the men in Jessica’s life. These boys were so fun and such cuties. They are both around Aya and Amara’s ages, so it was fun to see the boy version of my own girls :)
