Megan & Harrison [Santa Barbara Engagement Session]

Wednesday, July 6th, 2011

I met Megan 11 years ago as bleary-eyed incoming freshman at our UCSB Summer Orientation. We didn’t actually hang out a lot once we got to Santa Barbara but but she was always a familiar face on campus. We must have had similar but different schedules because I remember seeing her a lot coming and going but we always seemed to be passing each other going the opposite way! Thanks to Facebook we’ve kept in touch post-graduation. She’s always been so supportive of my photography endeavors and blog and I was so touched when she said that if she ever got married she’d want me to take her photos!

Needless to say, I was ecstatic when she told me Harrison proposed, jealous when I heard he swept her away to SB for the weekend for an uber romantic proposal and giddy when it worked out for us to meet in SB for the engagement session! I love that Megan calls Santa Barbara her “happy place” cause it’s mine too! We started the morning out at the beach and worked our way north through the SB courthouse, and then onto campus. Santa Barbara pulls on my heart strings so getting to photograph a couple like Megan and Harrison made it even more of a beautiful place.

Megan & Harrision,

Thank you for the fun and laughter in Santa Barbara. I am so glad that we stayed connected, Megan,  and that you found someone who makes you laugh like Harrison does! You two are so great together and if I can even capture a fraction of that with my camera then I’ll be a happy camper. I can’t wait to capture another day of love and laughter with you two!

Love is…soccer, laughter, and finding someone to share that with.

Candace & Daniel

We did a little pre-wedding shoot the day before Candace and Daniel got married. I’m excited they squeezed in some time to take some photos in between setting up their beautiful wedding that they (and their loved ones) did so much of themselves.
