Happy New Year

January 16th, 2010

It seems like the theme for 2010 is ‘doing more with less’. I’ve got more ideas, more goals, more projects on the horizon, more photography planned, more babies in the house. Yet there seems to be less time, less energy….sigh… with that I leave you with this: a few lines and a photo.

I just needed to blog to get the keyboard clackin again!

Shari & Sophia: Baby Shower

December 17th, 2009

I’ve known Shari since grade school. One of my first memories of her is her Brownies uniform that she use to wear to school. In middle school, the girls would sit up on the field during recess and do random things like trade shoes for the day. I remember Shari was really the only one I could ever trade shoes with because our feet were the same size. She and I were pretty much the shortest girls in our grade!

We’ve been through a lot together and a lot without each other. Although I haven’t always been able to understand everything going on in her life, I do know that I can understand her next steps as she becomes a new mom! I’m so proud of you Shari and everything you’ve accomplished this past year. I know you’ll be a great mommy and the inspiration to Sophia to be a strong woman.  I’m looking forward to this next stage where we are both moms to little girls who will only be four months apart. I hope Sophia and Amara will be great girlfriends and have as much fun as we did together (but get in less trouble) :)

I battle bouts of complete and utter sadness when I have to miss out on things  since I live on the opposite side of the state. So you can imagine that I was so happy to have been able to make it to Shari’s baby shower!

Trenton: Baby Photography

December 11th, 2009

I was so happy to finally meet Trenton and to see my good friends as new parents! It was great getting to spend some time just sitting around with my friend Alli and our babies who are three weeks apart. Alli and I have known each other since kindergarten and so it will be fun that Trenton and Amara will have known each other since they were a couple months old. Trenton is a beautiful blue-eyed baby with so many expressions!
