Photography: Flier

April 14th, 2010

I just wanted to share  that one of my photos of Aya was used for a flier for First 5 San Diego. First 5 is a non-profit organization that strives to improve the lives of children from womb to kindergarten. I was honored when I was asked to submit a few photos that they could use for a  flier that is distributed throughout San Diego. If you live in San Diego and have a little one between 0-5, be sure to check them out!

Liz, Phil & Zach [Family Photography]

April 7th, 2010

I was excited when Liz contacted me about booking a family session and we were able to schedule it for the same week. April will be pretty busy and I didn’t want to wait so long to meet her and her family. We did the session in their home in North Hollywood. I loved the way they decorated Zach’s room! Why can’t I get it together enough to be so coordinated?! I was just glad I finally framed two photos of Aya and Amara that I’ve had for 5 months!

I have to say, Zach was not uber impressed with my try-to-make him laugh skills. I was going for kids song and weird noises but apparently he wasn’t as amused with that as he was for his dad’s impression of Ben Stiller as Zoolander with the black lung. I love how parents know what makes their kid laugh, or their photographer for that matter :)

A Friday Day Date

April 2nd, 2010

Last Friday Brent and I had the day off work and we opted to take the day to ourselves. It was a great day date and I thought I’d share it with you all, in case you’re  in need of ideas on where to spend some time and indulge your tastebuds!

We started at Clementine’s for brunch. April is Grilled Cheese Month, so we may have to go again soon! Brent went with me to Stoner Park to take a few photos for an idea I had, and then we went to Jin Patisserie. Jin Patisserie has become one of my favorite places. The food is delicious, the tea is amazing and the deserts are heavenly. I don’t know that it gets much better than that. I haven’t taken the girls there, but they do have a children’s tea set (glass of milk or juice, fresh strawberries, egg salad finger sandwich, scone, and slice of butter cake). We just got something to drink, a piece of cake and some macaroons to take to my brother’s place for desert the next day. I love being an adult and getting to make the decision to have a piece of cake in the middle of the day… just because I feel like it!

I’ll let the photos do the talking, but will add that I had the “Serene”: Layers of pistachio mascarpone, raspberry jelly, vanilla custard & hazelnut feuilletine. To me, it’s layers of mouth-watering goodness upon sheer blissful yumminess!
